Philosophers and their Critics Series
The purpose of this series is to reconstruct the interactive dialog which constitutes the development of much philosophy, in which ideas are presented and subsequently refined under close scrutiny. Each book consists of a contemporary assessment of an important living philosopher's work. Each volume opens with a collection of essays written by an interdisciplinary group of critics addressing the substantial theses of the philosopher's corpus. In the last section, the philosopher responds to his or her critics, clarifies crucial points of the discussion, or updates his or her doctrines.
