The Chemistry of Functional Groups [Series Editor: Zvi Rappoport, The Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel]
The Patai Series was founded by Professor Saul Patai [1918 – 1998] and in 42 years has published more than 130 volumes covering all aspects of organic chemistry. The series has provided outstanding reviews on all aspects of functional groups in analytical, physical, synthetic and applied chemistry.
During Saul Patai’s time as Series Editor the series benefited from the help of outstanding editors such as H. Feuer, J. Zabicky, C.J.M Stirling, F.R. Hartley and especially Zvi Rappoport who has now taken over the responsibility for the Series.
Zvi Rappoport has followed the old tradition and is working together with other editors, such as I. Marek, J. Liebman and Y. Apeloig.
Since 2003 all new books in the Patai Series have been available in both print and electronic format at www.interscience.wiley.com with the addition of older publications being added each year. The electronic format allows for alphanumeric searching and all chapters in the series can also be separately downloaded and printed. If your library organizes an Electronic Access License for the Patai Series, the information is retrievable from all computers working on the intranet. The electronic approach is the ideal tool to make the best use of the treasures in the Patai Series by giving each chemist direct access to the information.
The Patai Series covers all aspects of organic chemistry with each volume containing chapters on:
- General and theoretical aspects
- Computational approaches
- Thermodynamics and kinetics
- NMR and ESR
- Mass Spectrometry
- Spectroscopies
- Analytical aspects
- Reaction mechanisms
- Syntheses
- Biological effects
- Environmental effects
- Industrial applications
