Douglas Cazaux Sackman is Professor of History at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. His publications include Wild Men: Ishi and Kroeber in the Wilderness of Modern America (2010) and Orange Empire: California and the Fruits of Eden (2005), winner of the 2006 Martin Ridge Award.
