Resources

The material in the book is supported with a comprehensive list of questions and solutions that can be employed as a learning aid. The essence of having these questions and solutions is that for most students new to the concepts and workings of construction, seeing these worked examples before solving new problems makes the subsequent problem solving a more manageable task. For practicing professionals, the questions and solutions serve as examples of a systematic method for addressing real problems they may encounter on the project.

The website has a set of twenty questions from chapter 19 and seven questions from chapter 20 for students to review and solve. In addition it provides solutions for a selection of the questions provided to enable students to appreciate the level of detail and context of answers expected.

By providing the limited set of solutions, the student is encouraged to apply the principles gained from the questions with solutions to the ones without. Alternatively, the hardcopy version of the book has a more comprehensive list of questions and solutions to which the student could refer. This is particularly useful where progress on solving any of the questions made available through this site is inadequate.
