This series is the sequel to A History of Medieval Britain, which Blackwell is publishing under the general editorship of Marjorie Chibnall. The two together will comprise a history of Britain whose only true rival will be the Oxford History of England - itself compromised by its English focus. The approach of the series is analytical and intrepretive narrative, combining the traditional virtues of historical writing with the results of the latest research. Each title is illustrated with maps and photographic illustrations and contains full, annotated guides to further reading arranged by subject.
