A History of Spain
This, the first multi-volume history of Spain in the English language and the first to be published outside Spain, will cover the whole of Spanish history from pre-historic times to the present day and each volume will be written by a specialist in the field. The last 25 years have seen a renaissance of research and writing on Spanish history - in Spain itself, in the rest of Europe and in the United States - and this series reflects new historical thinking, perspectives, and methods. But the History of Spain is more than a synthesis of existing knowledge: it is designed to advance research and thinking on the subject as well as to represent its current state. Each volume has an identity of its own, and will appeal to scholars, students, and the general reader alike.
