Richard L. Daft holds the Brownlee O. Currey, Jr. Chair in the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University, where he specializes in the study of leadership, organizational performance, and change management. Professor Daft received his MBA and PhD from the University of Chicago, is a Fellow of the Academy of Management, and has served on the editorial boards of Academy of Management Journal and Administrative Science Quarterly. He also served as Associate Dean at Owen, was the Associate-Editor-in-Chief of Organization Science, and served for three years as Associate Editor of Administrative Science Quarterly. Professor Daft has authored or co-authored twelve books, including his worldwide best selling textbooks, Organization Theory and Design, 9th ed. (Thomson/South-Western, 2007) and Management, 8th ed. (Thomson/South-Western, 2006). Professor Daft also published Fusion Leadership: Unlocking the Forces that Change People and Organizations (with Robert Lengel, Berrett-Koehler, 2000) and The Leadership Experience, 4th ed. (Thomson/South-Western, 2008).
