Ron Hale-Evans has worked as a technical writer for the Free Software Foundation, the Linux Foundation, and Microsoft. He is the creator of the Mentat Wiki, a collaborative environment for exploring ways to become a better thinker (http://ludism.org/mentat), which led to the writing of his best-selling book, Mind Performance Hacks. In addition, he is an active game designer with several award-winning open source board game designs and a series of articles on game systems for The Games Journal (http://thegamesjournal.com). He has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Yale, with a minor in philosophy.
Marty Hale-Evans is a freelance technical editor and artist who has worked for companies such as Microsoft, Boeing, WGBH Educational Foundation, and the University of Chicago Press. She worked on Mind Performance Hacks as a developmental editor and contributing writer. She has co-designed several award-winning board and card games; designs, produces, and sells artisan confections and jewelry; works with community arts organizations such as the Foolscap literary SF convention; and is pursuing a master’s degree in library and information science.
